November 16, 2004 Grand Opening of Biblioteca Pública El Páramo

Children's and adults' fiction & non-fiction, encyclopedias, dictionaries, atlases and reference books for health, agriculture and careers are available at the library. When purchasing books, the Library Coordinator confers with El Páramo's teachers and parents to determine educational and community needs.

Library first opened with 160 new books – now has over 1300!

Library volunteer Reinaldo Gamas instructs young library patrons how to use the two public-access computers that are available at Biblioteca Pública El Páramo.

Instructional and English-learning CDs, documentaries and movies, year-round reading clubs and educational workshops are also offered at Biblioteca Pública El Páramo

Children now enjoy reading and doing their homework at the library, where an ample supply of learning resources are available, and proper lighting ensures better reading conditions. Teachers and parents continue to report favorably on how the library has helped improve their children’s education by stimulating their enthusiasm and incentive for learning
