Runaway Success for Team Run for Books at 2007 San Francisco Marathon
High fives and big thanks to our star athletes who joined FUNDVEC’s “Team Run for Books” to compete in the San Francisco Marathon, and we’re also grateful to our hard-working volunteers who gave their time at the Marathon as well as those who helped at our pre-event Progressive Walk/Run Training Series. Also, a HUGE thank you to our friends who sponsored Team Run for Books with their donations, which totaled over $1200.00!

FUNDVEC 2007 Fundraiser Garage Sale, Specialty-Item Donations Net Needed Funds
Almost everyone walked away with a bargain at our Gigantic Garage Sale Fundraiser last July, thanks to the excellent variety of donated goods from friends of FUNDVEC. We send special thanks also to our generous friends who donated quality furniture sets and large household appliances for sale on Craigslist. Combined proceeds from all sales netted over $3000.00 for FUNDVEC, and we especially thank our volunteers who not only helped us with the heavy work but made the event a memorable one.

The Englander Pub and Restaurant in San Leandro, California hosted a Get-Together Dinner. FUNDVEC Friends and supporters came to enjoy typical Venezuelan food and music and participated in fun activities. Supporters filled a giant poster with good wishes to send to the people of El Páramo for the grand opening of the new El Páramo Public Library. Over $800.00 was raised that night, which was used to buy books for the new library.
